About DeF-Sec
Built on service. Focused on security.
DeF-Sec, short for DeFatta Security, is an IT and cybersecurity advisory firm in Louisiana, founded by Salvatore DeFatta.

The founder
Salvatore DeFatta
Sal started in labs and ethical hacking, earned a cybersecurity certification from LSU and the Cisco Certified Ethical Hacker certificate, and went on to run enterprise networks for a living.
Today he is a Senior Network Administrator and an Information Technology Specialist (25B) in the Louisiana Army National Guard, with an active DoD Secret clearance.
DeF-Sec brings that same discipline to businesses across the Northshore and Greater New Orleans: assess the network, write the plan, bring in vetted vendors to build it, and oversee the work until it is done right.

| Firewalls and VLANs on a working network | Segmentation and least-privilege rules, each with a written reason. |
| Documentation other people rely on | A written plan and network documentation you keep. |
| Military IT discipline | Clear procedures, checked work and no shortcuts. |
Why DeF-Sec
Built to be accountable.
An engineer, not a salesperson
Advice from someone who runs enterprise networks every day. Not tied to one brand or provider, so the recommendation fits your business.
A plan in writing first
Every recommendation comes with its reason, before you spend anything. Documentation you keep at the end.
No markup on vendors
You pay the vendor’s price. When DeF-Sec is paid by a vendor, we tell you up front, in the agreement.
Start with a conversation.
Tell us what is going on with your network. We will tell you honestly whether we can help.
